I've been a guitarist playing semi-professionally for 40 yrs. + in PA and been in 7 piece R&B, 6 piece hard rock, 5 piece Rock n' Roll, 4 piece top 40, 3 and 2 piece wedding ensembles and I'm trying to work up a solo act with a looper and vocalizer.
I am quickly realizing that I miss the excitement generated by live performers. Unfortunately, I am also realizing that try as I might, I can't seem to get the right mix of talent and attitude since my move to FL. While I'm no virtuoso, I can hold my own in the above as well as Latin and Blues etc. I play slide and have added a synth guitar to my repertoire (still learning on that) along with harmonica (also a relative newby.) While by no means a front-man lead vocalist, I can and do sing lead (key dependent) and am pretty comfortable with back-up vocals. I have professional, reliable equipment and transportation.
As importantly, I have a professional attitude and am a reliable team player.
If you are serious (but not insanely so) about putting together a tight ensemble to do covers and some originals (even a tribute band might work,) are musically competent as a keyboard, base player, percussionist or vocalist, have decent equipment and reliable transportation, are interested in playing out 3-6 times a month and are willing to put the effort into making music and not just noise, let's talk. I don't expect to retire off of the money but I do expect to supplement the monetary reward with the joy of making it sound great and having fun!
If you are a band already up and running and would like to add a guitar+ that is into the above, we may be a good fit.
