condition: good
1980's Brown Label MIJ Emperor F, 17'' bout, laminate front and rear. Body is an excellent condition, very minor bout marks, one scuff mark on top of headstock; the rear appears near mint-gorgeous back on this archtop. The guitar had luthier set up with new TI 12's in mid May. He commented that the truss is near frozen or seized. I would call it non-functioning, but he was still able to make a minor turn to address guitar's action. No repairs, breaks or issues. The original pick guard has mild warp( I think)-no need to replace, though. I have played this alongside my L-5 and really do not hear a huge difference in tone, certainly not enough to justify higher L-5 price point. These MIJ's have a bell-like resonance to them, more similar to my LeGrand than the laminate thunk of a Tal Farlow, or similar. Incredibly fine instrument here at a good price, entirely gig-worthy.
