Since the 2018 Farm Bill made it legal to grow hemp in the United States again, CBD has been popping up in everything from granola to dog biscuits. That might be a good thing if this was being done by value based companies run by ethical people who wanted to do more than just take your money, but theyre not.
Most of them were created in the last two years by pump n dump fraudsters whose only intention is separating as many people from as much of their money as possible as quickly as possible before the FDA or FCC shuts them down or they get enough people complaining online that the complaints start showing up in Google.
One of the longest running CBD companies in Florida is run by a guy with multiple felonies who got run out of the used car business for being too shady. It's that bad.
By far the most common practice is to buy a product like gummy bears from a wholesale distributor just like any other store that wanted to sell gummy bears would do, add a small amount (less than $1 worth) of cbd, and then sell it for 10x the retail price of the product. This is how we wind up with a $5 gummy bear being sold to people dying from cancer.
Other all too common problems are companies claiming there is more cbd in a product than they put in, not putting any cbd in the product at all, claiming cbd bought from an unregulated country like China is from USA hemp, not including enough cbd in a product to be effective for anything, and not testing their cbd for the presence of heavy metals (this is why a licensed farm is important.)
Unfortunately for the consumer the wheels of justice turn slowly and these companies are able to operate for years before they've ripped off enough people to kill off their company.
And then they start a new one.
It's so frustrating I could type about this industry for hours if I don't stop myself now so here's the bottom line.
I'm not going to tell you what I have is going to cure your cancer, relieve your arthritis pain, fix your broken back, or make the rash on your dogs ass go away (although I have seen it stop a dog from having a seizure, pretty amazing.)
All I'm going to says is if you want to try pure CBD, extracted from plants grown on a licensed USA Hemp Farm, whose existence can be traced back from the jar it's in now to the batch of seeds it was grown from, call me.
That's what I have and I'll give it to at a fraction of what you'll have to pay someone who mixed it in hemp oil, sprinkled it on a dog bone, or rolled a few gummy bears around in it, first.
