Bambusa oldhamii - Oldham's Bamboo Plants
The culms are straight and erect, with relatively short branches that form fairly open clumps. A well-known, classic tropical bamboo. It can be found throughout the Disney parks. Culm walls are thick, but soft. Shoots are edible, but this bamboo is grown mostly as an ornamental plant. Grows up to 55' tall and 4" dia. culms—Min. temp 24°F.
As with all tropical bamboo species, this is a clumping bamboo and does not spread uncontrollably.
The temperate bamboos, grown in northern climates, are mostly runners (we do not specialize in temperate bamboos).
3-gallon bamboos are 3'-4' tall.
