Core Responsibilities: Route Execution: Safely drive commercial vehicles (e.g., box trucks, tractor-trailers) on local or regional routes. Cargo Handling: Manually load and unload produce using hand carts, ramps, and pallet jacks. Temperature Control: Monitor and adjust refrigerated truck (reefer) temperatures to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage. Compliance: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, logging DOT compliance and hours of service. Customer Service: Verify delivery manifests with clients, handle invoice collections, and address any order discrepancies. Typical Qualifications & Requirements: License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A, B, or C, depending on truck size) and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).Medical: Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate. Physical Demands: Capacity to regularly lift, push, and pull heavy cargo (often between 50-75 lbs.) in various weather conditions and refrigerated environments.
