Position Summary: The primary role a Field Service Technician is to facilitate service and repairs, maintenance, and training on MFP's/Printers/Scanners/Faxes to our customer base in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner.
Key Position Responsibilities: Must be able to manage and maintain a set territory of MFP's/Printers/Scanners/and Faxes. Have top-notch communication skills both with customers and coworkers. Also, must possess a high-level of trouble shooting skills and provide a superior level of customer service.
Responsibilities
• Perform on-site service, repair, and preventative maintenance of copiers, printers, and related office equipment from various OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
• Troubleshoot hardware issues using schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes quickly.
• Utilize hand tools and computer hardware knowledge to disassemble, repair, replace parts, and reassemble equipment accurately.
• Conduct software troubleshooting to resolve connectivity problems, print queue errors, or firmware issues affecting device performance.
• Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to facilitate precise repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain detailed service reports, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each job for accountability and tracking purposes.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status, preventive maintenance recommendations, and troubleshooting procedures related to network connectivity or device configuration.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a service technician specializing in copier or multifunction printer repair from brands such as Ricoh, Lanier, Brother, or Sharp.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with computer networking concepts including IP configuration and troubleshooting networked devices.
• Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and service manuals accurately.
• Proficiency in using hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
• Experience with software troubleshooting related to copier firmware or embedded systems.
• Knowledge of computer hardware components relevant to office equipment diagnostics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field under minimal supervision.
