The Business Development Manager sells products to all existing and new Chain Accounts in their geographic area by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Develop incremental growth of the top 20 stores for each route per assigned target.
• Responsible for account sales strategies, promotional activity calendars, and volume forecasts
• Create and support a positive relationship with the trade, key decision-makers, peers, coworkers, customers, consumers, etc.
• Meet/surpass assigned quarterly and yearly volume goals
• Achieve objectives communicated either in writing and/or verbally by management
• Make Sales presentations at the headquarters level, field management, and at the store level
• Present and get authorized new products at the headquarters level and the store level
• Responsible for the updates and maintenance of all Vendor Forms, Pricing, Promos, etc.
• Obtain incremental space, priority locations, price reductions, coordinate promotional activity, and flyers/circulars with all accounts
• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources
• Opens new stores/ locations in the assigned territory
• Develop new business with Restaurants
• Cover routes for both the sales team and merchandisers when they are out on vacation or sick. This would include collections
• Reset Coordinator for New and existing stores, chain or independent
• Visit and present items to NSA functions as required by the direct supervisor
• Availability on the occasional weekend for Company-funded events such as Food Shows, Demos, or Company gatherings.
• Attends to all Sales meetings
• Train the sales team & demo company on Tropical Way and Tropical Cheese College
• Coordinate and manage demos
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-Year College or technical school; or two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE:
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish required
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to maintain an overall positive and creative attitude with customers, co-workers, and management
• Ability to address and resolve any customer’s needs, requests, issues, or difficult situations promptly
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
