1979 Gold Wing GL1000 with all original parts and paint - there is nothing aftermarket. It has 4100 original miles matching its pristine condition! No rust, no pitting.
There is nothing else to do on the bike. After a few year's storage in a collector's garage (I am the second owner), I did the following last year: * Replaced front and rear tires * Replaced battery and I attest the entire wiring and electrical components are in perfect order * Rebuilt all brake cylinders and hoses using OEM Honda * New air and oil filers/ oil change * Clean and rebuilt carbs with OEM parts * New accelerator and clutch cables * New NGK spark plugs * Replaced the bearings on the triple clamp stem * Serviced and changed the fluid on the front suspension * New OEM handle grips * New OEM mirrors - again, there is nothing aftermarket!! * New fuel pump OEM. The thrill of hunting original Honda parts arriving on aged boxes and yellowed plastic bags with brand new parts inside is awesome.
There are some very minor flaws on the paint due to its age. The exhaust tip turned blue on the right side, but the carburation is fine-tuned now. The original seat is in perfect condition with the only flaw being the silk screen Honda logo faded! The original disk brakes condition match the low mileage.
All 4 turn signals are new OEM with the original embossed Made in Japan lenses and I changed because the old ones could look better. I chromed the fenders and a few other parts because I wanted all looking great. All screws that I touched and saw were cleaned / polished. There is a lot of TLC on the bike and now it is time to part and see it going to a good home that appreciates its superb condition.
There are many bikes out there with 20k, or 40k miles looking average to bad at around $8k or $7k or even less. Those bikes are not in the same league, as I consider mine close to a museum piece so don't waste time low balling or sending negative comments. This motorcycle is for ONE collector who values low miles pristine vintages.
