Our tasteful mods include: window tint, Prestige Alarm, Husky floor liners, re-finishing silver rear bumper, professionally installed custom 3" 2wd suspension lift & 33” BFG All Terrain tires.
We purchased this all original Square Body survivor a couple years ago from the original north TX elderly owner that purchased it new from Woods GMC in Decatur TX. After we completed mods listed above & mechanical servicing, our GMC runs & drives as it should w cold a/c & is a pleasure 2 drive. The modest lift gives it the visual respect it deserves but w/out the extra weight & servicing of another differential, drive shaft, transfer case & more. We think we have 1 of the nicest unrestored Square Body survivors you will ever see & you can run it as-is & have fun. My vision is to do an LS & 4wd conversion w straight front axle & you've got a $80k truck.
Our 1 owner 85 GMC Sierra Classic has a clean TX title, clean Carfax, original paint, interior & rust free sheet metal w 94k miles on the clock. This 1 owner CJ was special ordered w everything you need & nothing that you don't as a factory equipped HD hunting Jeep which is why it was ordered Radio Delete. It has low 78k miles, clean Carfax & title & 98% original paint.
We would rather see tired original paint & no bedliner than fancy paint because nothing is hiding. Underside has normal surface rust where paint is missing, floors have a little rust but all very fixable but nothing critical as photos show & only adds to its character as an original paint survivor. You would be hard pressed to find a better overall CJ w original body panels & frame.
We were very luck to hear about this CJ that had been sitting for a few years & we have brought it back to life. Motor runs good, shifts, steers, 4wd works & it drives straight. ** Astronaut Admiral Alan Shepard's Z28 Camaro Convertible

Our 1995 Z28 Camaro Convertible, original family survivor, belonged to NASA Astronaut Legend Admiral Alan Shepard, Mercury 7 astronaut, the first U.S. astronaut in space, and Apollo 14 commander. During the Apollo 14 mission, Shepard made history by walking on & hitting a golf ball on the moon!
The Admiral was a true sports car fan owning ten Corvettes over his lifetime and all were from the famed *Rathmann Chevrolet in Melbourne Florida which was the same dealership that offered Shepard and other astronauts new Corvettes. Enjoying retirement in California, he needed more room for his and his wife’s golf clubs so once again he contacted his friend and dealership owner, Jim Rathmann. Mr. Rathmann assisted in the order and to make it more convenient for pickup, he arranged for Shepard to take delivery of his new car @ Tipton Chevrolet in Hollister California.
Our Astronaut Car is equipped as follows:
1995 Chevrolet Z28 Camaro Convertible, quasar blue exterior / beige custom leather interior / beige convertible top, 5.7 Aluminum Head LT1 275 HP V8, 4L60E auto trans, ps, pdb, tilt, tach, clock, a/c, pl, cruise control, power mirrors, 245x50x16 radials on 16x8 factory alloys, performance axel, fog lamps, keyless entry, remote trunk release, leather wrapped steering wheel, front bucket seats, folding rear seat, color keyed carpet mats, molded convertible cover with bag and more.
Normal maintenance and upgrades include: Panasonic AM/FM/CD stereo installed when factory unit died, new Falken 245x50x16 radials, new Interstate battery and mechanical servicing including new brakes.
The Admiral’s Car is well documented with its original window sticker, owner’s manual, sales documents, 68k miles, clean Carfax, clean TX title showing 1 family owner & family supplied photo of the Admiral, his wife and the car. It still wears its original issue California license plate with original owner added Pebble Beach License plate frame.
Fortunately, it has always been garaged and gently driven. It is as nice and original as the photos show inside, outside, and underneath including a small dent in the rear muffler and burn in the carpet from the Admiral’s occasional celebratory cigar & its original paint is still excellent especially considering 30+ years old.
In 2022 we were fortunate to have been invited to be one of the lead vehicles at the NASA Houston employee only parade and car show.
In May 2023, our Astronaut Car was on display at Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance collector boat and car show in Seabrook TX where it won The Mayor’s Choice Award. It has been on a promotional tour which includes being on display at various facilities, auto shows, magazines and online.
The Admiral’s Z28 Convertible is truly 1 of 1. It is the nicest survivor Astronaut Car in existence and its documented ownership, make it one of the most collectable vehicle artifacts in early Aerospace history.
His 1968 Corvette sold for $280k at Barrett-Jackson in 2022.
