This 3 node mesh network connects to your router via Ethernet cable. By placing the nodes throughout the house it extends (and share) their SID so that all locations are covered with a strong wifi signal. The nodes hand over access (like a cell tower) so your phone (tablet, etc) always gets the best signal.

The nodes connect between themselves via traditional wifi. You can also connect the nodes via traditional cat 5e Ethernet cable. This model also connects via the power lines. That enables a connection even through thick/shielded walls and floors.

Note each node has 2 RJ45 ports for additional wired connections.
