Port Security Officer – Port of Miami (Cargo Operations)
SMI is currently hiring Port Security Officers to work at the Port of Miami – Cargo Side.
We are seeking reliable, professional, and security-minded individuals who are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working outdoors, have strong attention to detail, and take pride in enforcing security procedures.
Pay
$17.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
6:30 AM to Close
10-hour shifts
40 hours per week in just 4 days
Responsibilities
Verify that all drivers entering the facility have valid identification and are wearing the required safety vest.
Prevent unauthorized individuals and vehicles from entering the cargo terminal.
Inspect and verify that all containers leaving the facility are clear and authorized for departure.
Monitor access control points and enforce all port security procedures.
Report any discrepancies, suspicious activity, or security concerns immediately to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required.
Provide professional customer service while ensuring compliance with all security regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid TWIC Card (required)
Valid Florida Class D Security License (required)
Valid Driver License (required)
Reliable personal transportation
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong communication and observation skills
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
