You are looking at a Rickenbacker 4003 AFG, Super Rare 2006 Highly sought after collectable Color of the Year extremely Limited Run Electric Bass Guitar. One of the rarest Rickenbacker Custom Color Finishes available on a Rickenbacker 4003 Bass Guitar. Don't confuse this finish with the typical standard Fireglo Rickenbacker Finish. This Amber Fireglo has and aged Orange fading into a Golden Yellow in the center. It is also adorned with Golden Yellow (Vintage Aged) Binding that really sets this Masterpiece apart from the rest. In my humble opinion, this is one of the most gorgeous of all Ricks. It's stunning in person.
This Bass is Mint untouched Condition. It looks no different than the day it left the Rickenbacker factory almost 20 years ago!
Gorgeous AMBER FIREGLO "Color of The Year", "COY" for short, Custom Finish that Rickenbacker only made available on only a small number of their 4000 series basses for 2006. Due to back-order fulfillment at the time, some of the AFG instruments were not completed until the following year, 2007.
Please do not confuse this Amber Fireglo Custom Limited Finish with the standard production Fireglo finish that Rickenbacker has been producing every year since the company started. There is a HUGE difference.
This AFG finish is very unique and in my opinion, the most outstanding and beautiful of all Rickenbacker finishes. The finish on this one is a gorgeous shade of Orange fading into a Golden Yellow hue from the outer portions to the inner areas. The edges on this bass are amazing the way the Orange morphs into that Golden Yellow tint. What really sets things off and makes this bass pop is the amazingly stunning Golden Yellow Vintage Ageing process that Rickenbacker used on the binding on this limited run of these Amber Fireglo instruments. They also used a specialized formulated proprietary vintage tint in the clear conversion mix on the fretboard. It looks incredible, to say the least. The Artisan at Rickenbacker that was responsible for the build and paint work on this instrument, was obviously, a very experienced professional luthier. Not only does the bass look other worldly, it also plays and sounds wonderful; exactly what you expect with a Rickenbacker Bass. I'm sure you know the players that made these basses famous throughout the years. Believe me when I tell you, all those famous tones are on tap with this Bass.
This is Master Craftsmanship at its finest! I have owned many Rickenbacker instruments over the years and I can say with confidence, this is one of, if not, THE, most beautiful finish I have ever seen on any Rickenbacker. The included photos are plenty nice, but this piece is absolutely drop dead stunning in person! It's hard to look away from it, seriously. It is a beautifully Master Crafted work of art!
If you are a player, you will love this bass. If you are a collector, congratulations, you just found one of the best investments on planet earth. Rare Rickenbacker basses like this one just continue to rise in value year over year. If you're a Rickenbacker fanatic, of course, you already know what I saying.
Asking $7500.00.......before I change my mind and hold onto to this bass for another 20 years!
