Listed here for sale is a 2020/2021 Harley Benton RB-414.
If you’re starting out, and you’re after a decent take on the bass made famous by Geddy Lee, Chris Squire and Paul McCartney, this is the bass for you!
The RB-414 has a set-neck construction, and comes with a single coil bridge pickup and a humbucker in the neck position (Artec).
The bridge pickup has been switched out as the original, stock unit died. It’s been replaced with a Retrovibe Rickenbacker-Style replacement Treble Pickup (8.4k DC resistance).
The neck humbucker is very hot, and it gives you that nice, round and deep McCartney-esque tone.
The bridge pickup is lower output, so there is a bit of a volume discrepancy when you toggle between them.
The bridge pickup is appropriately bright and clear, as you’d expect.
The bound neck has a deep, baseball bat sort of profile, a C or U-shape I would say.
No significant dings or scratches on the body, just some minor swirling in the finish that doesn’t really show.
There is some fret wear from the Rotosound 66 strings that are on it. Some string wind scratches in the lower positions.
This bass comes with a Gator gig bag.
Never been played out, this thing has only seen a smoke-free home and the studio.
