I have over 25 years' experience teaching English Language Arts. I specialize in writing genres aligned with FL state ELA standards, including grammar, reading comprehension and speaking. I'm also a published author, editor, and a TEFL certified instructor.

I will work with your student in a systematic way to build the skills they need to succeed in school. Strategies are fun and develop critical and creative thinking skills. All sessions are one-on-one over Zoom, which I have found to hold students' attention better than in-person tutoring.
I've taught students in grades K-12 and college; designed and led professional development training for teachers on Language Arts and creative writing strategies throughout Florida for the FL Department of Education; worked as a consultant with the Miami, Broward and Palm Beach School Districts, and was an approved provider of alternative educational services for 8 years with federal Title I programs. As an adjunct professor for Lesley University's creative M.Ed program for teachers in Boston, MA, I trained teacher cohorts around the country in innovative writing and reading strategies designed to engage and motivate students.
ADULTS and English Language Learners: Gain confidence in English pronunciation, fluency, conversation, writing, and presentation skills. Zoom lessons are one-on-one. I am a Level 5 TEFL certified instructor.
