With a $9 ribbon you can be practicing with this one. This is the complete set that comes in a Samsonite hard case specially modified to carry the machine, tripod and some extras in a safe and rattle-free manner. Today, just a locking hard case alone would cost about the listed price. PRICED LOWER THAN ANY COMPLETE SET ON EBAY AND NICER THAN MOST.
Superbly clean with NO cracks, no damage and not even scratches. All keys work fine, smooth and quiet as it was just cleaned, oiled and tested. All mechanisms work (paper advance, keys..) AND it types just fine now BUT needs a ribbon. There are several SINGLE SPOOL ribbons for $9 each online and the old ones are cloth and can be re-inked. These use a single spool though I see several places listing a straight ribbon for this and all similar models. The steel drawer slides out and there is a good supply of paper in there but it is vintage paper from 30 years ago so put fresh paper in to use. The all-steel tripod fits below it. It opens up, extends and the machine mounts securely to the top. VERY well made and not a flimsy Chinese made piece of junk like they import now. THIS WHOLE SET WAS MADE IN THE USA. You can tell as here it is decades later and it looks and works like new. We made things to last forever back then and not designed to be thrown out and replaced every few years. The Samsonite hard case is in great shape too, with shiny chrome, working latches and locks (with keys) and no cracks or damage.
