EXCELLENT OVERALL-- This is a bargain, as it is priced lower than my other 1960s - 70s vintage electrics. It is the lowest priced of any on ebay as shipping is $30 to over $100 on those listings and most cost over $80 to start. Its in excellent condition but has a few scuffs on corners. A Vintage Electric with metal key basket just like every manual typewriter since early 1900s. Its really a manual with power added to throw the key. Ribbons are very inexpensive on Ebay or Amazon and this has a ribbon in it plus will have a new one. Ribbons last a LONG time as you hit the reverse button when its done and run through a 2nd time.
A great typewriter, from the biggest name in typewriters. Every key tested, as well as margins, tab and shift. No built in erase or edit on these vintage beauties, typing is a direct link from your mind, to your fingers and on to the paper. No processing, no editing, nothing. An error means correction tape or liquid to fix.

A few decades ago EVERY business and store had at least one, every office, every military unit, every home..... This was HOW we communicated and filled out forms. So who uses them now?
FORMS! You cant put a form with lines + boxes to check into a printer. You can line up any box or line on any form with this. Accountants use the black and red ribbons for ledgers.
WRITERS...many still prefer the direct contact and no editing of a typewriter. A great gift for anyone who grew up using one. Something different and cool but this one needs an outlet to work.
I HAVE 1940S AND 1950S MANUALS THAT DO NOT USE ELECTRICITY
