UNUSED UNWORN NEW CONDITION-- This jacket was bought with HG Bonnie leather pants (pants were sz 8 and jacket 10) as a set for a woman to ride a new HD. Things changed rapidly in 2020 and employment changed so bike was no longer :(.
This DOHENY model jacket is one of the finest looking of the HG womens jackets in my opinion. Not all plain black and not overdone with embroidery, it uses a mix of thick and durable leather with areas of ballistic nylon and when you look close at the jacket, there are layers and layers of different materials in different thicknesses. Overlapping nylon with seams all double and triple seam-stitched. The front and rear has a large solid rectangle of leather and the arms are leather on the upper part of the entire arm and ballistic nylon on the lower. These jackets are MADE TO LAST and to protect you. This has the armor in the back, shoulders and elbow area but unlike some other jackets I have sold, it isnt hard or very stiff foam or plastic though you can easily add that if you wanted. It is a softer foam that is more for cushioning impact and putting more material between your skin and asphalt. The leather also overlaps in key areas and believe me from experience, a leather jacket can and will make a disfigurement and/or long recovery into just a lesson learned and some bumps + bruises.
The Doheny design has the Hein Gericke name embroidered in a large but subtle way on the back and the gleaming chrome G with an inset rhinestone is on the left shoulder. All zipper pulls are curved/sculpted and heavily plated and polished. The arms from cuff almost to elbow have an aged/distressed silk-screened design made to look faded. The combo of the different blacks from different materials, silk-screened design and the embroidery is awesome. On the bottom at each side is a double row of leather straps and buckles that are there to look awesome BUT also functional to tailor the fit. The sleeves are snug fitting and narrow at the end so they unzip for 6 inches for easy entry and exit plus theres a strap that snaps to keep the cuffs gathered.
Motorcycle jackets are cut LARGER than regular jackets you wear for fashion or cold. Sleeves are longer as your arms reach to the bars and they have to allow for more movement as well so the measurements are not quite the same as for other size 10 jackets. If you wear a size 10 top or jacket, you should be fine. Measurements below are for comparison.
MEASUREMENTS
LENGTH-- From the top-middle of the shoulder to the bottom edge is 24.5 inches long
LENGTH-- From the top of the zipper to the bottom edge below is 21 inches long
WIDTH-- Laid flat and zipped from armpit SEAM to other SEAM is 19 to 20 inches The material is thick so figure 19 inches to be safe
