CINELLI 2A Pista Quill Stem with Oval Milano Logo on a classic Giro D'Italia Handelbar - Very Clean

26.4mm Handlebar Clamp - traditional vintage Cinelli sizing
105mm Long - hard to find shorter length

This has been my most prized stem - hopefully anyone looking at it knows what it is & how valuable it is. But in case you don't - the 2A was the much more limited distribution pista version of the ubiquitous 1A. It has a 65 degree angle, which makes for a slightly steeper, negative drop as is commonly seen in Track (or Time Trial) Bikes. These things are hard to date but this one has the Oval Milano stamp that is sought by vintage afficianados, & not much info stamped on the insertion column, which indicates it is pretty early.

I just had to have a 2A for my own vintage steel track bike & rode with this one whenever I wanted to go brakeless or look "tarck." It is marked up a little & I hadiplanned to polish it, but decided that I liked the "patina" so never got around to it.

This particular model of stem was pretty rare to begin with & is getting harder & harder to find now, especially a nice one in a shorter length like this, & if you check around, generally they are pretty darn expensive. It is installed on a bit later Cinelli 64-40 Giro D'Italia handelbar wrapped with classic cloth tape that is faded, & is fraying from bumping around in my parts box, but IMHO is usable. I don't really feel like unwrapping the bar to take it out of the stem but at my asking price - for all intents & purposes I'm throwing it in for free.

$150 OBO

ITM (Italmanubri) 600 Racing Quill Stem - Nice Condition

26.0mm Handlebar Clamp
100mm Long

I always thought that this stem is so beautiful that I would never let it go, but have decided that it is silly to hang onto parts I probably won't ever use. So if you're looking for a fine Italian-made quill for your vintage or modern 1" threaded headset bike at a reasonable price - here it is...

I've reduced the price to $50 OBO

SYNCROS ALTURA Road Bicycle Quill Stem - Great Shape

26.0mm Handlebar Clamp
80mm Long

This rare, unique, & very cool early 1990’s vintage Synchros stem is TIG welded 6061 Aircraft Aluminum so it is very light & strong. Syncros was known more for its Mountain Bike parts that are now highly sought after by vintage MTB collectors, but they also made very well thought of road components like this stem, which due to the company's MTB background is very light & strong.

It is very hard to find this model stem in a short length like this one, which is in excellent shape & shows very little wear besides the SYNCROS decals getting partially scraped from bumping around at the bottom of my parts bin. I didn't really care since I always planned on completely removing them for a cleaner look whenever I got around to using this stem. But...the very cool HAMMER 'N CYCLE logo, that Syncros is (in)famous for, on the face of this stem is completely intact.

This is something else that I always thought was so cool that I'd find something to do with & never get rid of, but if you know & appreciate what this stem is, & have a bike it is right for - here ya go...

DIA-COMPE Gran Compe Ene Quill Stem - Almost Like New

26.0 mm Handlebar Clamp
80mm Long

OK, I confess, this stem is not truly vintage - but it is beautifully made, looks great, is very light & sturdy, & has a strong vintage-ish 3ttt Record, Cinelli 1A kind of vibe. Plus, it does have real vintage ancestry - Dia Compe quill stems go way back.

I bought this stem for a particular build & after just a few rides changed to a different stem on that bike, & stored this one away so it looks almost like new. Check around on the interwebz & you will find this same stem for $60 - $80 at places like VeloOrange, Ben's, & others...

You can have this one for only...
