ANTIQUE ITEM--Frame has very minor hairline separation at corner joints from age shrinkage and is in AMAZING SUPERB condition. Age-shrinkage at corners is normal. Gilded finish has a white plaster streaking applique. Velvet cushion is pristine as is the hand-painted oval plaque (Arnart?)

VERY GOOD++/EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION-- The frame is listed as VG++ due to the hairline separations, though most wood frames that are this old seem to have this from wood shrinkage over time. My guess is that in South Florida, the air conditioned interiors year-round dried it some, but this was brought to Florida in the early 1970s from Chicago by my grandparents. I have no idea how long they had it in Chicago, but my grandfather died 8 years ago at 94. Other than the age related drying, this is amazing..no damage or wear at all.
The frame is definitely an old style and made from wood with ornate corners and designs. It has a curved or wavy edge so the outer lines are not straight and the inner lines are squared. The frame is gilded gold and then they took what I believe to be plaster (the thicker lines have scattered tiny cracks in the surface unlike paint) streaked all along and it is gathered in the designs. Inside the frame is a cushioned velvet backing which has very full and puffy insides still. Pressed into the center and screwed in from the rear is one of the hand-painted wall plaques. I have a matched Left/Right pair of similar ones listed separately and those have crossed arrows on the rear. I can not find the exact ones in photos but similar ones are Arnart. The back had a brown paper cover that has come off in 2 spots to reveal the mounting screws (I "helped" that one) and at the bottom revealing the line of heavy staples holding the velvet material.
