We are looking for a writer to deliver 50 short reviews (70-100 words) of marquee weekend travel destinations within driving distance of Miami (anywhere in South Florida).

Acceptable review topics include:
- Unique hotels
- Annual events
- Spas
- Shopping areas/markets
- Parks
- Activities: Hikes; Kayaking; Surfing; Picnicking; Camping; Outfitters
- Destination restaurants
- Special venues
- Oddities

Here are some an examples:
1) Spying on Giant Elephant Seals at Año Nuevo State Reserve near Santa Cruz, California
Copy: From 10 yards away, a 16-foot male elephant seal looks like a giant, blubbery great white shark that's been beached and fitted with a rubber sausage for a nose. Get super close to these guttural-sounding behemoths, their lazy harems, and their high-pitched, barking weener babies (who sound like monkeys from a few sand dunes away) on a gorgeous, windswept dunescape north of Santa Cruz, CA. Devoted docents give 2-hour guided hikes during breeding season, which spans from December to March every year.

2) Hiding Out at a Quintessential Lodge in Big Sur, California
There’s no place like Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn, a vintage-1930s compound of rough-hewn redwood lodges listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Covered with flowering vines and surrounded by towering trees, they look like fairy-tale cottages, each one an odd shape and size, and furnished with mismatched carved wooden antiques, rag-wool rugs, and antique curios. The ‘Chateau Fiasco’ room feels like a treehouse – indeed, you have to duck beneath a twisting tree trunk to reach the door. Warning to fussy travelers: stay away.

Requirements include highly relevant clips and basic knowledge of web publishing tools like Blogger or similar content management systems.

About the company: We are developing a new travel site focused on a mix of regional and international trips. We have several properties on the web, including 71Miles.com.
