Republicans won Virginia. No surprise, that's what everybody was expecting.
Republicans won New Jersey. Kind of surprising, but considering the incumbents unpopularity in the state, and the last minute attempt to latch onto Obama after trying distance himself, not really too much of a surprise.

NY-23 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was supposed the tea baggers "pivotal" moment in flexing their political muscle. Their annointed one, Hoffman, supported by other loony conservatives like Palin and Beck, lost. Pretty much a good, swift kick to in the nuts to tea baggers (I know, redundant, but hey, who cares). After spending millions of dollars, tea baggers from all over the country sticking their noses into a LOCAL election (no surprise, they got mad when Hoffman was criticized for a. not living in the fricking district and b. having NO idea what is important to the people that DO live in the district) lost the seat, for the first in over a 100 years to a Democrat.

Now we get to sit back and watch the tea baggers vent their frustrations at other Republicans up for election in 2010 and the further fracturing and marginalization of republicans and conservatives through their petty infighting.

Oh, and as for VA and NJ, the conservatives are going to try and spin into some sort of victory over Obama, again by ignoring reality. 24 percent of voters in VA and 20 percent of voters in NJ were using the elections as a way to rebuke or criticize Obama. Yeah, that's some overwhelming numbers for you. Of course, knowing how the conservatives like to inflate numbers (after all they only inflated the 912 march by 1.9 million people), they'll come up with their own numbers, regardless of whether it's true or not.
