Starting mid-November, we are looking to hire a part-time Nanny who would come over about 20 hours a week and be paid hourly.
Starting about April 1st, when our new baby is around a month old, we are looking to hire someone full time. This will be a unique position. The Nanny would be paid a monthly salary, no matter how much we use her or not. We travel so much and would like the nanny to come with us about half the time. When on the road, the nanny would still have plenty of free time and her own hotel room, etc. We would not require her full time, but probably 20 hours as well on up to 30. When we are in town, it would be 20 hours a week again average.
But, on weeks when our family is on the road and we don't require the nanny to come, we would obviously still pay as if she was working. Instead, we would ask her to come over to our house when we are gone, finish whatever laundry is left for the kids, if any, pick up toys and straighten up, change the crib sheets, etc.. Maybe run to the grocery store and stock the fridge with what we use when we are home, so it's waiting when we return. It would maybe be 8 hours total of work. There also might be a few errands we need to have done for us when we are gone, like a package sent from UPS or something similar.
The Nanny would probably be asked to travel 15 weeks per year with us.
