We are conducting a study about mobile phone carriers/plans and how people research and shop for them. It consists of an in-person, at-home interview that entails up to a 4-hour commitment and pays $300.
Our researchers would visit you at your home and observe your online research and/or accompany you to a store or two in the Miami area to see how you shop for cell phones in the real world. You are under no obligation to actually purchase anything, although you certainly can if you like. We're calling these sessions "shopalongs."
The interviews will take place in the morning, afternoon, or evening of Monday, 11/16 and Tuesday, 11/17.
If you are interested and available, please be so kind as to provide the following information:
1. Your name, age, and a good phone number to reach you during business hours
2. Are you planning to purchase new wireless service within the next 4-6 months?
(a) I am planning to buy my first wireless service / mobile phone
(b) I am planning to buy a new mobile phone from my existing wireless service provider
(c) I am planning on buying a new mobile phone from a new wireless service provider
(d). Not planning to buy
If (b), are other carriers being considered/investigated?
3. Is the new phone intended for personal or business use?
4. Do you currently subscribe to a monthly rate plan that lets you access the web from your mobile phone? If not, is this under consideration for your new phone?
5. Are you researching this potential purchase:
(a) Online
(b) Retail location/store/kiosk where only one provider’s products/services are sold
(c) Retail location where many carriers' products/services are sold (e.g. Best Buy)
