Computer tech needed for onsite service at various small businesses and homes in Broward County. Must have reliable transportation and clean driver’s record. Four years or more experience providing computer and network support required. Qualified applicants must be proficient in and will be expected to perform the following:
• Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME, 98 and common applications
o Virus and Spyware identification and removal
o General system clean-up/tune-ups
o Provide help and instruction on various common applications such
as the Microsoft Office suite, Acrobat Reader and CD burning utilities
o Setup email clients in pop, http and Microsoft Exchange environments.
o Identify and Resolve startup issues
• PC and Network Hardware
o Identify faults in and replace hardware such as power supply,
motherboard, hard drive, memory, optical and floppy drives, cooling
fans, etc.
o Work with, troubleshoot and maintain good understanding in various
ISP’s, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other internet and local network
protocols.
o Setup and configure network hardware such as a router, switches and
wireless networking components
• Networking
o Quickly adapt to various Windows based workgroup and domain networks
and business specific applications
o Work with and troubleshoot Windows Server products, particularly Small
Business Server
o Understand and implement remote technologies such as remote desktop and
VPN’s
o Strong troubleshooting skills - even in applications and technologies
in which you may have little or no previous knowledge in.
• Communication
o Recommend upgrades to enhance the end user experience and reliability.
o Offer advice on all products and hardware previously listed
o Communicate with end users at a level they understand as well as at a
technical level with teammates.
