LIL SLUGGERS - a child development program for kids ages 2 - 5 years - is seeking an instructor for its locations in Sunrise & Margate. Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Additional hours available in the future as program expands. Paid training, competive hourly wages, holidays and school vacations off.

Perfect for pre-school teachers, teacher aids, college students/grads, coaches and players who enjoy playing with, teaching and nurturing toddler and pre-school age children (ages 2-4)

This position is year-round. Please do not apply if you are looking for seasonal employment. We are looking for quick learners and mature individuals. You must have an energetic, enthusiastic, friendly personality and have experience with children age 2-4. People with these qualities and limited baseball experience can succeed in this program while those with extensive playing experience who lack the ability to work well with children will likely fail. We prefer "kid magnets" over baseball professionals. Teaching a preschooler baseball is MUCH different than teaching older children to do so. Experience with preschool age (2-4) children is highly regarded. Are you a kid at heart? You must be at least (a mature) 20 years old to apply.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Teaching – Direct classes of 4 to 6 students. The instructor should be able to direct the activities, teach the kids good motor skills, good baseball skills, and some behavior skills.

Instructors are expected to be knowledgeable on all the programs offered and to help sell and enroll students.

Equipment and set up – The instructor is responsible for the equipment they will be using in class that day. Sometimes this entails getting the equipment out of storage and placing it back again at the end of class.

Class Management – This is keeping track of the students progress and reporting it to parents. This also entails taking attendance and checking on kids who haven't shown up in a couple of weeks. This entails a wide variety of small tasks that insure things go smoothly in your class, such as handing out information flyers and T-shirts.

Training – Instructors may be asked to train new instructors. Training also includes attending periodic training sessions.
